What We Do…

•           We currently provide hundreds of children from New York, New Jersey,  Connecticut, and Maine the rare opportunity to write, record, and engineer an entire CD album containing their own original music and artwork.

 •           Founded in 1999, Music Ascension has produced over 40 albums created by more than 1000 young people.

•           Our program offers children an outstanding hands-on experience with music. Students explore such fundamentals of music as rhythm, melody, dynamics, and harmony through creative musical exercises and improvisational songs. Students then focus on basic elements of songwriting and composition and develop many tools necessary to effectively present their musical and lyrical ideas.

•           Each Music Ascension site is staffed by  an exceptionally talented Teaching Artist who guides and supports students as they work towards writing and performing an original piece of music.

•           The Music Ascension Program allows students to            learn the fundamental concepts and basic                       techniques of audio- engineering by helping to                       engineer and produce their own album.

•         At the end of every program each student takes                      home a CD containing the music and artwork they           helped produce from start to finish
