Music Ascension



Chancellor Academy Music Ascension Program est. 2002 Pompton Plains, NJ Fully accredited Secondary school for Special Education by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Music Ascension is part of the Vocational Education Program which prepares students for the transition from school to work, post-secondary education, and independent living. Students from this program have gone on to further develop their skills in music at the Institute of Audio Research in NYC. Original songs from this program have garnered students multiple invitations to perform at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. Chapel Hill Academy Music Ascension Program est. 2002 Lincoln Park, NJ Fully accredited Elementary and Middle School for Special Education by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition to an extensive Songwriting and Recording Program, an exceptional Choral Group, Beat Production classes, small group instrument lessons, and a drum circle program, Music Ascension provides a wonderfully engaging year-round General Music Program to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders. Project Morry Music Ascension Program est. 1999 White Plains, NY Project Morry is a year-round youth development organization that provides children living in under-resourced neighborhoods a multi-year commitment anchored by a superb residential summer camp experience. Music Ascension has produced more than 30 albums with Project Morry and has successfully realized one of its founding visions: since 2004, the Studio has been run by former participants of the program! One former Studio Staff member went on to study at the Institute of Audio Research in NYC and another went on to work a full year music residency as an Assistant Teaching Artist at Chancellor Academy. Camp Echo Lake Music Ascension Program est. 2004 Warrensburg, NY Founded in 1946, Camp Echo Lake is an institution that families have trusted for generations to provide a safe, secure, positive and nurturing environment for their children. Our studio at Echo Lake has produced some amazing music and continues to be a highly popular program area. We have developed a Music Production Team that works all summer long learning about Music Production and assists the Teaching Artist in a variety of phases of the CD production. This studio has been staffed with Teaching Artists who have also worked with Cirque de Solel, Ween, and Chocolate Genius. Camp Laurel Music Ascension Program est. 2011 Readefield, Maine Music Ascension’s newest site is also the most ambitious studio it has designed to date. Housed in a newly constructed 1500 sq ft building dedicated to a spacious Live Room, a vocal booth, and two additional rehearsal rooms. Camp Laurel asks its campers to commit to focusing on 2-4 specific program areas every summer. This approach allows Music Ascension to implement curricula designed to move campers through an extended and multi-tiered progression of learning, creative projects, and hands-on experience. building dedicated to music and radio, the studio boasts a well equipped and comfortable Control Room.
